Why are there new issues on my scan?

There are several reasons why new issues may have been introduced in the scan reports.

 

Here are some of the most common reasons:

 

  • You made changes to your website.
    • Theme updates
    • New products
    • Changing banners
    • Writing blog posts
  • A third party made changes to your website.
    • App updates
    • Third party developers
    • Platform updates
  • The scanning tool received an update.
    • We extend third party software and do not control these updates.
  • The standards changed.
    • The standards change extremely infrequently (every 1-3 years). We will reach out when this happens, this is likely not the cause.

 

Your best course of action is to review the new issues and attempt to determine their cause. If these issues appear on URLs of pages, products, or blog posts you've edited recently, you may have introduced new errors. Refer back to your training materials to assist you in remediating them.
